GKIDS
The GKIDS Readiness Check website helps families learn how the skills are assessed in their child’s classroom, and finds ways to support and extend skill development at home.
Commissioned by Georgia Public Broadcasting for the Georgia Department of Education, the website leads parents through three different learning domains: Foundations of School Success, English Language Arts, and Mathematics. Each domain houses a range of skills that attribute to the overall mastery of the learning domain. The GKIDS website follows 508 web compliance standards and toggles from English to Spanish for bilingual users.

During the wire-framing process, stakeholders expressed a strong interest in a prominent navigation menu on desktop and tablet. This would allow for users to move very easily and quickly through each learning domain. A large inspiration of the UI came from early learning toys that feature large and easily identifiable imagery.
